Living
LIVING IN PARADISE
Ten spacious and thoughtfully appointed villas and suites stretch along the beach, each with fabulous views out to sea over our private protected reef and beyond. The horizon is scattered with small uninhabited islands. There are huge luxurious beds and sumptuous bathrooms, marble baths and open-air showers.
The Lodge at the centre of our tiny settlement is the hub for daily island life, for socializing, dining and entertaining. There’s an impressive dining hall, and a huge lounge with supersized sofas inviting you to relax and unwind, as well as private and secluded verandas and chillout spaces.
In front of the Lodge, the infinity pool overlooks the beach and the pier extends 140 metres out across the reef. Along the pier is a cabana, which is a favourite place to dine, or simply seek some peace and a cooling breeze in the shade.
Nature
PURE NATURE
The remote islands of the Calamian Archipelago, where you’ll find Ariara, are a ‘last frontier’, untouched and unspoiled by tourism and development. Our island and it’s surrounding waters are a sanctuary for a vast diversity of wildlife. To read about our conservation efforts click here.
In the Air: Sea eagles nest high in the rocks and depending on the season you might spot owls, kingfishers, woodpeckers, egrets and flower peckers, amongst many other species of birdlife. Beautiful butterflies, bats and fascinating insects abound. |
On the Ground: Magnificent harmless water monitor lizards which grow to a length of around 1.5m live here. Wild orchids and carnivorous pitcher plants flourish in the tropical forests. |
In the Sea: A huge diversity of marine life thrives in the clear warm waters of the protected habitat of our private reef including four endangered species of turtle some of which return every year to lay their eggs along our main beach. On rare occasions you might stumble across docile dugongs grazing on the seagrass. The coral reefs are teeming with colourful fish and coral for you to discover. |
Travel
TRAVEL
The Philippines is made up of over 7,000 islands and the Calamian Archipelago lies to the north of the principality of Palawan. Ariara is situated halfway between Coron and El Nido, in a remote area called Linapacan, about 200 nautical miles southwest of Manila.
Getting here:
Manila is easily reached by direct international flight from all Far Eastern hubs, from Australia, Europe and the Middle East, from the West Coast of the USA, and now from New York. |
|
From Manila, guests have different travel preferences: some choose to charter an amphibious aircraft direct to Ariara from Manila Bay; others prefer to fly to one of our nearest local airports Busuanga (Coron) or El Nido and helicopter or travel by sea, from there to Ariara. Whatever your preferences we can advise and make arrangements with local operators as required. All as part of our service. |
